If we wrote to you, here is who we are.

Hillspring Advisors finds and approaches owners of established, privately held businesses on behalf of our client, a privately financed acquisition group led by two partners. We study a few industries closely, then write directly to the owners whose businesses fit our client's brief.

Your business is not listed anywhere, and nobody else knows we contacted you. If the timing is wrong, tell us and we will leave it there. If you would like to hear more, the next step is a 30-minute call with me.

What you can expect from us

It stays between us

We never contact your employees, customers or suppliers. Before you share any numbers, you and our client sign a mutual NDA.

You pay nothing

We work for our client and do not represent sellers. Owners never pay us a fee, and we never list businesses for sale.

The buyer has already looked

Our client reviews every business before we write, so if you heard from us, they are already interested in yours.

You set the pace

Some conversations become a deal within months. Others pick up again in a few years, when the owner is ready. Either suits our client.

Open mandates

Each mandate is a brief from our client for one kind of business they want to buy. If yours is close but does not match every line, we would still like to hear from you.

How a conversation goes

You can stop at any step. Nothing moves forward without your say-so.

  1. A short note from us

It names the mandate your business fits and why we picked it out.

  2. A 30-minute call with Julia

No documents needed. She tells you about our client and what they would do with the business. You share as much or as little as you like.

  3. An introduction to our client

If you would like to go further, Julia introduces you to the two partners and you speak with them directly.

  4. A mutual NDA and a first look

You send summary financials to our client. They come back with questions and an honest view on fit.

  5. An indication of value

A written price range and proposed structure from our client, including what happens to you, your team and your customers after a sale.

  6. Diligence and closing

On a timetable you agree to, with your own accountant and lawyer alongside.

Questions owners ask

Why did you contact me?
We screen companies against our client's mandates using public licensing, contract and industry records, and yours matched. Nobody referred you, and nobody else knows we wrote.
Who is your client?
A privately financed acquisition group led by two partners. Julia shares their names once there is mutual interest, and you speak with them directly before any documents change hands.
Do I have to be ready to sell?
No. If you expect to sell in three or five years, an early conversation still helps you plan, and costs you nothing.
What does this cost me?
Nothing. Owners never pay Hillspring a fee, and you are free to bring in your own adviser, accountant or lawyer at any stage.
Will my employees or customers find out?
Not from us. We only ever contact you, and we keep every conversation confidential.
What if I am not interested?
Reply with "not interested" and we will take you off our list.
